One of the best things about Saturdays at the Farmers Market is meeting like-minded people & getting to know them better – one conversation at a time – weekend by weekend, month by month.  

When we first met Jen, she was just starting up the EcoFlirt blog and website and look at it now! We are so impressed with all she’s done and we’re even more flattered that she’s mentioned JW’s Farm not once… but twice!

FRESH – New thinking about what we’re eating.

The Montgomery Community College Foundation and Sustainable Sandhills will be sponsoring a public showing of the film Fresh, The Movie, June 15, at 6:30 PM in the Multi Purpose Room on the Montgomery Community College campus. They have invited a panel of experts to be present after the movie to answer any questions viewers may have about our local growing economy. In addition, local growers will have tables set up to sell their goods to the audience.

This event will also kick off their new programs: Farm-to-Table and Wednesday Farmers Market at MCC. Farm-to-Table is a series of classes and seminars through Continuing Education, Small Business Center and North Carolina State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to educate interested students in the business of selling produce they grow and best practices for better production. The Wednesday Farmers Market will run from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and begin on June 16 on the MCC Campus.
